Jede Unterschrift bringt uns diesem Ziel näher.
The exhibition Back and Forth Cost Estimates, Breastfeeding and Turnaround Strategies brings together the most pressing questions, positions and demands of young architects in Austria. The challenges are great: actively shaping the turnaround in construction, creating fairer working structures and increasing their own room for manoeuvre by changing the framework conditions. A collectively curated mapping will be shown, which was developed together with 60 architects and forms the prelude to an open discussion. The installation invites exchange, poses questions and is intended to grow through comments from visitors.
In his exhibition “Make Do With Now”, curated in 2022, Yuma Shinohara focussed on a young generation of architects in Japan whose work is driving the current architecture of the region and who have been little known to date. In his lecture, he presents five of these up-and-coming architecture firms whose creative use of limited resources, found materials and existing building fabric responds to the pressing issues of our time.

The HDA – House of Architecture is a network partner in the EU-funded programme LINA. The association of over 30 European cultural institutions and event platforms promotes young architects and creatives from Europe and offers them an international platform within the network. Within the framework of the LINA Call for Projects, young talents can apply and, after a preliminary selection process, participate in exhibitions, biennials, lectures, workshops, publications, etc. throughout Europe.
As a collection partner of the nextroom architecture database, the HDA is responsible for the continuous documentation of architectural goings-on in Styria. The "nextroom" database presents completed projects of high architectural quality or relevance to building culture in the form of a long-term archive that depicts contemporary architecture in Austria and beyond and makes it accessible. Architects can submit projects completed in the last two years at any time.
