Architecture Facing the Impermanence
Film screening, DiscussionThe film BEYOND ETERNITY offers a critical examination of architecture in the context of global challenges such as climate change, resource scarcity, circular strategies, property speculation and refugee crises. It is contextualised within the second edition of the Sharjah Architecture Triennial (United Arab Emirates), which deals with contemporary spatial and social issues.
The screening at the HDA will be followed by a discussion between Martin Grabner (photo artist, filmmaker, assistant curator Kunsthaus Graz, architecture graduate) and Arian Lehner (director of the film, architecture graduate), who will discuss the issues raised in the film in greater depth.

The architecture documentary deals with the various themes of the Triennial and includes interviews with the Nigerian-based architect and curator of the Triennial, Tosin Oshinowo, as well as with the following international architects/artists from Denmark, India, Nigeria, Lebanon, Ghana and Palestine, who present their projects:

About Arian Lehner (film director):
Arian Lehner is an architecture film maker and founder of Mies. Magazin (Austrian architecture TV-show) and Mies. TV (international architecture video platform). Next to working as a journalist for Austrian newspaper DER STANDARD, and Austria’s biggest architecture magazine architektur.aktuell, he studied architecture at the Technical University in Vienna, University of Manchester and the University of Applied Arts (Studio Kazuyo Sejima – SANAA). Working for international architecture practices such as MVRDV (Rotterdam, Netherlands) and OMA/Rem Koolhaas (Hong Kong/SAR). His film-works have been produced and shown in Europe, Asia, Africa and North America.
