HDA, in cooperation with the Province of Styria and the Regional Chamber of Chartered Engineering Consultants, is pleased to invite you to the exhibition opening of the Architecture Prize of the Province of Styria 2025. The curators, Sevince Bayrak and Oral Göktaş (SO? architecture and ideas, Istanbul), and HDA programme coordinator Zerina Džubur will discuss the exhibition’s design and its core themes.
The Prize Bag: Double Lives of Architecture exhibition was developed within the framework of the Architecture Prize of the Province of Styria. Curated by Sevince Bayrak and Oral Göktaş of the Istanbul-based studio SO? architecture and ideas, the exhibition and accompanying publication propose shifting our understanding of architectural prizes—seeing them as instruments for inquiry rather than final judgments.
Auftaktveranstaltung. 20. Mai, 17:30 Uhr, AZW Die Architekturtage – Österreichs größte Publikumsveranstaltung für Baukultur und Ingenieurtechnik – starten 2026 in die 13. Runde. Österreichs Architekturhäuser wieder alle Interessierte ein, die Vielfalt des baukulturellen Gestaltens in allen Bundesländern zu entdecken. Bei der kommenden Ausgabe holen die Architekturtage Infrastrukturen des Alltags vor den Vorhang und laden die Besucher:innen ein, im Rahmen spannender Vermittlungsformate in deren Geschichte, Gegenwart und Zukunft einzutauchen. The Architecture Prize of the Province of Styria 2025 was awarded to Architektursalon and su.n – spaceunit.net for the Salon Stolz. The curatorship was commissioned by the Styrian Provincial Government to the architectural office SO? architecture and ideas.
The HDA – House of Architecture is a network partner in the EU-funded programme LINA. The association of over 34 European cultural institutions and event platforms promotes young architects and creatives from Europe and offers them an international platform within the network. Within the framework of the LINA Call for Projects, young talents can apply and, after a preliminary selection process, participate in exhibitions, biennials, lectures, workshops, publications, etc. throughout Europe.
As a collection partner of the nextroom architecture database, the HDA is responsible for the continuous documentation of architectural goings-on in Styria. The "nextroom" database presents completed projects of high architectural quality or relevance to building culture in the form of a long-term archive that depicts contemporary architecture in Austria and beyond and makes it accessible. Architects can submit projects completed in the last two years at any time.
