For 48 hours non-stop in autumn 2024, banale potenziale was dedicated to questions of so-called public space, especially the street. Alternative uses were trialled, new perspectives opened up and hidden potential made visible. "banale potenziale - Laboratory for Researching the Street" at HDA - Haus der Architektur builds on the debates of banale potenziale and takes them further. As an exhibition, meeting place and discourse space, it sheds light on the history of banale, presents the results of the 48 hours and also shows new contributions.

For exchange instead of compartmentalisation, the will to create instead of stagnation, a built environment that is created from the experiences of many. We invite you: Think along. Have your say. Help shape it! This OpenCall is aimed at anyone who wants to actively participate in shaping our built environment. Architects, students, researchers, institutions and anyone interested in contributing their ideas and impulses can take part.

Der 12. WOHNBAU.DIALOG STEIERMARK findet am 19.05.2025 von 15:00 - 17:00 Uhr im HDA statt. Die Gestaltung des zukünftigen ländlichen Wohnens steht vor vielfältigen Herausforderungen und bietet zugleich enormes Potenzial für eine nachhaltige Entwicklung. Dieser interaktive Stakeholder-Workshop beschäftigt sich mit der Frage, wie ländlicher Wohnbau durch gezielte Maßnahmen zur Nutzung des Bestands, zur Bekämpfung von Leerständen und zur Entwicklung von Ortszentren neu gedacht werden kann.

Zwischen Kostenschätzung, Muttermilch und Bauwende (zkmb)

Ausstellung

Die Ausstellung „Zwischen Kostenschätzung, Muttermilch und Bauwende“ versammelt die drängendsten Fragen, Positionen und Forderungen junger Architekt:innen in Österreich. Die Herausforderungen sind groß: die Bauwende aktiv mitgestalten, gerechtere Arbeitsstrukturen schaffen und die eigenen Handlungsspielräume durch veränderte Rahmenbedingungen vergrößern. Gezeigt wird ein kollektiv kuratiertes Mapping, das gemeinsam mit 60 Architekt:innen erarbeitet wurde und den Auftakt zu einer offenen Diskussion bildet. Die Installation lädt zum Austausch ein, stellt Fragen und soll durch Kommentare der Besucher:innen weiter wachsen.

LINA – Learning, Interacting and Networking in Architecture

The HDA – House of Architecture is a network partner in the EU-funded programme LINA. The association of over 30 European cultural institutions and event platforms promotes young architects and creatives from Europe and offers them an international platform within the network. Within the framework of the LINA Call for Projects, young talents can apply and, after a preliminary selection process, participate in exhibitions, biennials, lectures, workshops, publications, etc. throughout Europe.

nextroom – styrian architecure database

As a collection partner of the nextroom architecture database, the HDA is responsible for the continuous documentation of architectural goings-on in Styria. The "nextroom" database presents completed projects of high architectural quality or relevance to building culture in the form of a long-term archive that depicts contemporary architecture in Austria and beyond and makes it accessible. Architects can submit projects completed in the last two years at any time.
