The award ceremony for the 2010 Architecture Prize of the Province of Styria took place on 9 June 2011. This prize is donated every two years by the Cultural Department of the Province of Styria, has for many years been one of the most important recognitions for the work of architects in Styria and is thus a yardstick for the development of building culture in the province.
Hubertus Adam, director of the Swiss Architecture Museum in Basel, editor of the magazine archithese and curator of the 2010 Architecture Prize of the Province of Styria, selected ten nominated projects from 62 submissions and subsequently awarded one prize and three recognitions. The publication "Raum, verschraubt mit der Zeit - Architekturjahrbuch Graz Steiermark 2010", conceived and written by Hubertus Adam and designed by Gabriele Lenz, will be published in parallel with the Architecture Award. It presents all ten nominated projects and documents them with photographs by Hertha Hurnaus.
We are pleased about two awards for the book "Raum, verschraubt mit der Zeit – Space, Twisted with Time / Architekturjahrbuch Graz Steiermark 2010".
The work of Gabriele Lenz – büro für visuelle gestaltung is honoured with a prize in the competition "Most Beautiful Books in Austria 2011" and the gold medal in the competition of the most beautiful books from all over the world, which thus goes to Austria for the first time.
