Die Arbeit A QUESTION IS A SENTENCE DESIGNED TO ELICIT A RESPONSE. TODAY, WE WANT TO KNOW WHAT THE SLOPPY FUTURE HOLDS der Künstlerin Kameelah Janan Rasheed ist eine Videoprojektion subtiler und dabei dennoch provokativer Fragen, die sowohl aus den großen Ausstellungsfenstern des HDA sowie über die Leinwand des Forum Stadtpark in das Grazer Stadtbild projiziert werden. Die Projektionen formulieren, vergrößern und verstärken dabei scheinbar einfache Fragen, die die Instabilitäten und Ängste vor prekären Zukünften artikulieren.
Für Kameelah Janan Rasheed ist die Arbeit inspiriert vom Versuch die Zukunft von Begrifflichkeiten und Zusammenhängen wie dem Selbst, der Gemeinschaft und Nationen in einer zunehmend unsicheren Welt zu lokalisieren.

The work A QUESTION IS A SENTENCE DESIGNED TO ELICIT A RESPONSE. TODAY, WE WANT TO KNOW WHAT THE SLOPPY FUTURE HOLDS by Kameelah Janan Rasheed, is a video projection of subtle yet provocatice questions that are projected into the cityscape of Graz from the huge glass panels of HDA's exhibition space as well as the screen of Forum Stadtpark.
Rasheed's projection formulate and magnify seemingly simple questions that relate to the instability and anxieties over precarious futures. According to the artist, the work is inspired by attempts to locate the future of self, community, and nations in an increasingly uncertain world.
