Ralph Nasrallah is a French-Lebanese architectural designer, researcher and multidisciplinary artist from Paris, based in Copenhagen. His practice is situated between space, design, drawing, video, photography, research, editorial objects, visual experimentation and performance. Ralph graduated from Central Saint Martins (UK) in 2022 with a bachelor’s in Architecture, where his work focused on community-driven design and material-led research with an emphasis on multidisciplinary practices. In the following years, he worked as a design assistant and researcher for architectural studios, artists and cultural institutes. Ralph also assisted charities in repair initiatives for adventure playgrounds in London. In parallel, he has been exhibiting his multidisciplinary work and developing an art practice feeding from as well as feeding back into spatial practices. Since fall 2024, Ralph has been pursuing a master’s degree at the Royal Danish Academy (DK) in Copenhagen, specialising in Political Architecture and Critical Sustainability. Currently, he is assisting Dima Srouji with her upcoming project and exhibition exploring Gaza’s heritage and the archaeology of violence, at the Palestinian Museum.
For 48 hours non-stop in autumn 2024, banale potenziale was dedicated to questions of so-called public space, especially the street. Alternative uses were trialled, new perspectives opened up and hidden potential made visible. "banale potenziale - Laboratory for Researching the Street" at HDA - Haus der Architektur builds on the debates of banale potenziale and takes them further. As an exhibition, meeting place and discourse space, it sheds light on the history of banale, presents the results of the 48 hours and also shows new contributions.
